Who can get vaccinated at the Bath Racecourse vaccination centre? ⬇️

Anyone aged 16 and over who is currently eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine can book their appointment/s or attend a walk-in session at Bath Racecourse. If you are attending a walk-in session to get your second dose please ensure that at least 8 weeks have passed since your first dose.

Can I just turn up? How do I make a booking? ⬇️

Appointments can be made using the National Booking Service. Alternatively you can attend a walk-in session, available dates and times of which are regularly updated on the The NHS England ‘Find my nearest walk-in vaccination‘ website.

What time are walk-in sessions available at Bath racecourse? ⬇️

The NHS England website offers a ‘Find my nearest walk-in vaccination‘ service using postcodes to search your nearest clinics. 

I have received a text or email asking for my details, should I respond? ⬇️

The NHS will contact you by letter if you are invited to have your vaccination at Bath Racecourse. The NHS will never ask for:

  • Your bank account or card details (the COVID-19 vaccine is free of charge)
  • Your pin or banking password
  • Copies of personal documents to prove your identity such as your passport, driving licence, utility bills or payslips

Why have I received a phone call? ⬇️

If you have received a letter but not booked an appointment you may get a phone call from the NHS Immunisation Management Service. This call will be from 0300 561 0240.

This will be a reminder to book your Covid-19 vaccination appointments.

The person you speak to will see if you need any help and support.

They will not call you to book appointments over the phone.

Can I park at the Bath Racecourse? ⬇️

There are parking spaces for the general public who attend for their vaccination. There are also two disabled spaces opposite the turnstiles before you enter the vaccination site. Parking is free but as there are limited spaces please arrive just a few minutes before your appointment and leave promptly as soon as you are able to. If you arrive early, please wait in your car.

I don’t have a car. How else can I get to the racecourse? ⬇️

Bath Racecourse is two miles north of Bath City Centre on Lansdown Hill.

A new temporary bus service from Bath Abbey to Bath Racecourse vaccination site operating over the festive period. The free service will run every hour from Bath Abbey bus stop to Bath Racecourse from 9am, with the last bus leaving the Racecourse at 6.20pm. This service will run on the following days:

•    Monday 20 December to Thursday 23 December
•    Wednesday 29 December and Thursday 30 December
•    Tuesday 4 January to Friday 7 January

The Bath Abbey Bus Stop is situated in the locality of Bath City Centre.

The usual bus service (no. 31) between Milsom St (Bath City Centre) and Bath Racecourse will continue as usual. Though please be aware that the shuttle service from Lansdown Park and Ride to the Racecourse will not operate from Thursday 23 December – Tuesday 28 December 2021.

What facilities are there on site? ⬇️

We have toilets and disabled toilets on site and there is also a café for you to purchase refreshments.

Where will my vaccination take place at the Racecourse? ⬇️

You will enter through the turnstiles, where our marshals will confirm you have arrived. You will then be escorted into the holding area where you will register. You can then enter the marquee where you will have a brief clinical assessment. Once you have been clinically assessed you will be able to go to one of our vaccinator pods.

What happens after my vaccination? ⬇️

You may be asked to wait for 15 minutes after having the vaccination. This is in the unlikely event you have a serious reaction to the vaccine.

Please do not drive for 15 minutes after having your vaccination.

Is there social distancing on the site? ⬇️

Yes. We are operating a one way system and there will be floor markings to enable us all to observe social distancing.

Do I need to wear a face covering? ⬇️

You must wear a face covering or mask to site. When you have arrived in the holding area if you do not have a face covering we will give you one to wear.

Can I bring someone to my appointment? ⬇️

If you need a carer you can bring them with you. Support dogs are also welcome on site.

Do I need to bring my NHS number? ⬇️

If you have your NHS number, please do bring it when you come for your vaccination appointment. You will also be asked for your date of birth.

What will happen if I’m early, late or if I miss my appointment? ⬇️

Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are early, please do not come into the site until the time you have booked for. This will help us ensure safe social distancing. If you miss your appointment or you are late you can rearrange your booking via the national booking system but we must do all we can to avoid wasting appointment slots.

How many people are you planning to vaccinate each day? ⬇️

We are able to vaccinate up to 1000 people per day.

Teams are stepping up efforts to offer all eligible adults over the age of 18 with Covid-19 booster vaccines before the end of the year, so this number may increase. Updates can be found in the news section of our website.

How many people are working at the Racecourse? ⬇️

We are very grateful for the support of B&NES Council, B&NES Community Hub, 3SG (a membership organisation representing voluntary groups across B&NES), St John’s Ambulance and many other voluntary groups and individual volunteers.
