Mental Health Awareness Week
Action: for yourself, for someone else, for all of us
We are supporting Mental Health Awareness Week by asking people to join us in taking action to support good mental health. Even small actions can help us feel hopeful and less powerless. And while our individual actions matter, when we come together we are even more powerful.
We’ve chosen Action as this year’s theme for Mental Health Awareness Week because, while awareness is vital, real change comes when we take action too. Together, we’ve come a long way on mental health, but we can’t risk going backwards. There’s still much we can do to prevent people becoming unwell in the first place.

Local Mental Health Support
Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) provides healthcare for people with serious mental illness, learning disabilities and autism across inpatient and community settings, serving a population of around 1.8 million across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, Wiltshire, and Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
To mark Mental Health Awareness Week (11–17 May), people across the South West were invited to pause and reflect on one simple question: What’s your One Thing?
The campaign encouraged individuals to share just one thing they do to look after their mental health – highlighting that wellbeing doesn’t always require big changes. Often, it’s the small, everyday actions that make the biggest difference.
