The BSW, Dorset and Somerset ICBs’ Joint Chief Officer Strategic Finance and Resources

Previously, Alison was Chief Finance Officer and Director of Performance and Contracting at NHS Somerset, and interim Chief Finance Officer at NHS Dorset.

Alison is a highly respected and experienced Finance Director/Chief Finance Officer who’s known for her collaborative approach to system working and has delivered financial balance for the Somerset and Dorset systems, as well as leading regional and national financial programmes.

She has over 30 years’ experience in the NHS in both provider and commissioner organisations. She’s also overseen the new hosting arrangements for the South West Collaborative Commissioning Hub at NHS Somerset.

Her broad breath of knowledge not only covers finance but other key areas, having been involved in strategy development and implementation and with direct operational responsibility for financial management, costing and pricing, contract negotiation, contract management and business case preparation. She also deputises for the Chief Executive Officer.

Alison constantly strives for quality improvements through transformation, efficiency and maximising value. She is passionate about ensuring continual improvements within health and care for the benefit of the people we serve.
