Information on BSW’s mobile coronavirus vaccination clinic

A mobile coronavirus vaccination clinic is currently touring areas of Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire where uptake of the coronavirus vaccine has been low and where it is known there are high levels of vaccine hesitancy.

The specially adapted bus is there to provide the coronavirus vaccine to people who are eligible for a vaccine but who are unable to travel to a vaccination centre or who have been hesitant to a previous offer of vaccination and would like to chat to a medical professional first.

The national booking system, either online or over the phone, is the most direct way of arranging a coronavirus vaccination, and can be used by people in the following groups:

  • people aged 42 and over
  • people who will turn 42 before 1 July 2021
  • people at high risk from Covid-19 (clinically extremely vulnerable)
  • people with a condition that puts them at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)
  • people who live or work in care homes
  • frontline health and social care workers
  • main carer for someone at high risk from Covid-19

A full list of eligible groups can be found here: https://bit.ly/3veDt5E

The mobile vaccination clinic is not intended for people who are able to travel, or who have yet to be invited for a vaccination.

People who are eligible, but are unsure about whether to have the vaccine, will be able to discuss their concerns with healthcare professionals who will will be stationed at the bus.

Please note, details of when and where the vaccination bus will be located will not be published online.

Details on the whereabouts of the bus will be advertised to specific communities through ongoing outreach work happening with community leaders, faith groups and public health workers.
