Paul Miller, Non-Executive Director at Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board, has today been named as the new Chair of Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

Paul will step down from his role at BSW ICB at the end of October 2024 to take up the role of Chair at the mental health, learning disability and autism provider on 1 November 2024.

He has been a non-executive director since the establishment of the integrated care board in July 2022.

Paul said: “It has been a privilege to be part of the ICB from day one. Being at the very start of new ways of working together across the NHS, local government and the voluntary and community sector has been a turning point in making a real difference to the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.

“We now have a clear set of priorities and ambitions that will ultimately help us build a healthier future for BSW.

“I leave my role with a great sense of pride in what the ICB and the wider system has achieved over the last two years and believe that the best is yet to come for BSW.

“My new role as Chair of AWP enables me to continue to play an active role across BSW, and one that is focussed on improving the mental health of our diverse population at every stage of their adult lives.”

Stephanie Elsy, BSW ICB Chair, said: “We are very grateful for Paul’s active support in the first two years of our ICB.

“This has been a pivotal time as we have developed the first integrated care plan that outlines the priority areas that we need to tackle to bring the most benefit to local people.

“I am delighted that Paul will still be very much part of the health and care system, working to support some of the most vulnerable people within our communities”.
