Richard Smale

Richard was appointed Director of Strategy and Transformation for the newly merged BSW ICB in April 2020 and has been appointed as Director of Strategy and Transformation for BSW ICB. Richard began his career with the NHS in 1991 as a graduate trainee on the financial management programme and is passionate about the improvement of health and care services and addressing the wider determinants of health. He has worked for a community provider in Plymouth, the RUH in Bath, led the reconfiguration of services across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) and developed transformational services provided by South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW CSU).
